An LCD screen consists of pixels and backlighting. The pixels provide the colors, while the backlighting allows light to pass through the pixels, making the image visible.

With OLED, individual pixels can be completely turned off, resulting in true black. This leads to better contrast and color display. Additionally, turned-off pixels consume no power, making the display more energy-efficient than an LCD screen.

Another advantage of OLED is that it doesn’t require a separate backlight, allowing for a thinner screen. This enables the creation of thinner and lighter devices.

Looking specifically at iPhones, since the introduction of the iPhone X, most iPhone models have been using OLED screens. However, there are exceptions such as the iPhone XR and iPhone 11, which still have an LCD screen.

So, the main difference between LCD and OLED is that OLED screens can turn off individual pixels for better contrast, energy efficiency, and a thinner design, while LCD screens use backlighting and cannot completely turn off pixels.

The screen sensitivity has decreased, which often indicates a defect in the touchscreen. We often cannot fix this issue without repairing the screen of your iPhone 14. You can always visit our store where we can perform a free diagnosis, and we may be able to resolve the problem without requiring a repair of your iPhone 12 Pro display.

However, if your iPhone 12 Pro has fall, impact, water, or visible user damage, it is no longer covered under our warranty policy. When cracks are visible on the front of the device, it means there are cracks in the glass of your iPhone 12 Pro display, and the device is no longer waterproof. Often, there are also dents or bumps in the frame, which further compromise the water resistance. When we repair your iPhone 12 Pro screen, we always place water stickers back in place to prevent direct water entry into the device. However, we do not provide any guarantee of water resistance after the repair, and we advise against submerging your iPhone 12 Pro underwater since the device becomes more vulnerable after sustaining damage and being opened.
