It can happen to all of us from time to time: you rush to a meeting, cafe, or maybe even a friend’s home, and suddenly you realize you left your beloved smartphone somewhere. The heart rate accelerates, you begin to sweat, and a sense of panic overwhelms you. But don’t worry, we have the perfect hack for this. Did you know that you can listen to your phone’s surroundings while you’re not around? For this you only need earplugs. Are you curious about how this works?

1. Open the Settings:
Start by unlocking your Android phone and go to settings, which you can usually find on your home screen or in the apps menu.

2. Navigate to Accessibility:
Within settings, scroll down and tap the “Accessibility” section, where you’ll find various features to improve your phone’s usability.

3. Select Hearing enhancements:
Within the Accessibility menu, search and tap “Hearing Enhancements,” an option designed specifically to optimize audio quality and listening experience.

4. Activate Ambient Noise Amplification:
In the Hearing Enhancements menu, you will find the “Amplify Ambient Noise” option. Enable this feature to activate the ability to amplify ambient sounds through your Android device.

5. Configure the Function:
Now adjust the settings as desired to determine how you want to enable and disable the feature. Here, for example, you can choose whether to control it via shortcut, gestures or other methods.

6. Connect your Airbuds:
To use this feature, you need to connect your wireless earbuds (e.g. Airbuds) to your Android device. Make sure your earbuds are correctly paired and ready to use.

7. Access from the Quick Settings menu:
Now swipe down from the top right corner of your screen to open the Quick Settings menu. Here you will find convenient shortcuts to various functions.

8. Start Ambient Noise Amplification:
Find and tap the button labeled “Omg amplify sound” in the Quick Settings menu to activate the feature. Enables amplification of ambient sounds through your paired earbuds.

With these steps, you can easily turn on ambient sound amplification on your Android phone and listen to your phone’s surroundings! Also useful for other purposes 😉
