Step 1: Open Settings
Let’s begin. Unlock your iPhone and look for the “Settings” icon. This looks like a cogwheel and is usually on your home screen. Tap it to open the settings.
Step 2: Tap Control Panel
Within settings, scroll down and tap “Control Panel. Here you can add quick functions that you can use immediately without going through the menu each time.
Step 3: Add ‘Hearing’ to the Control Panel
Scroll down until you see the Hearing option. Tap the plus sign next to this feature. This will add it to your Control Panel for quick activation of background sounds.
Step 4: Open the Control Panel
Swipe down from the top right corner of your screen to open the Control Panel. On older iPhones with a home button, swipe up from the bottom.
Step 5: Tap the ear icon
In the Control Panel, you now see an ear icon. Tap this to open the ear settings. Here you will find several options related to sound and accessibility.
Step 6: Select background noise
At the bottom, you’ll see the “Background Sound” option. Tap this and choose a sound that suits your moment, such as ocean, rain, running water or clear noise. You can also adjust the volume and set whether the sound keeps playing when you use other apps.
