Turning off MacBook
Like any other device, sometimes you need to turn off a MacBook. An easier operation hardly exists. Yet the specialists at ThePhoneLab are happy to explain it to you again.
Turning off MacBook
In just two steps, you can turn off your MacBook:
1. Click the Apple icon for the menu
2. Select ‘Turn off’
If you have already turned off all open apps and programs beforehand, the screen will turn black. If you haven’t done so, but have already clicked “Turn off,” the operating system automatically asks if you want to save all changes to open documents.
A black screen indicates that the MacBook is shut down. Be sure to close your laptop only at this point. If you do this earlier, you will interrupt the shutdown process and the laptop will take longer to reboot.
MacBook turn off with hotkey
Even though turning off the MacBook is anything but complicated, Apple always likes to make things just a little easier. That’s because you can also shut down your MacBook with one of two hotkeys:
1. Control + Option (⌥) + Command (⌘) + Power button
2. Control + Option (⌥) + Command (⌘) + Eject button
Why turn off MacBook?
If you are not going to use your MacBook for a while, you can turn it off or automatically put it into sleep mode (if you have set this feature). The advantage of hibernation mode is that the MacBook starts up faster from this mode than if you turned the laptop off completely. The advantage of turning off the MacBook completely is the security of all data. This is because the memory is slower or inaccessible when the MacBook is completely turned off.
MacBook automatically turns off
Certain Apple devices allow you to set a schedule so that, for example, your MacBook automatically turns off, and then automatically turns back on at a certain time. This can be done in several ways, and depends on which MacBook you have. Read more about this in your laptop’s product description.
– Via ‘System Preferences’ > ‘Battery’
– Through Terminal, a program that allows you to have tasks performed by the operating system
– Separate apps such as Almighty
