You were able to fix your flame’s number after a night out. The next day you want to send a message but the contact has suddenly disappeared? In this blog, we will help you with the problem: contacts not visible iPhone. The following topics will be covered:

Restore non-visible contacts

For many people, the contacts application serves as an address book with contact information of friends, family and colleagues. So it is therefore super annoying and especially stressful when your contacts are suddenly lost. But don’t worry, often restoring lost contacts is easy. You do this as follows:

  1. Go to settings > [your name] > iCloud, Enable contacts.
  2. Perform a hard reset, read our blog on hard reset.
  3. Once booted, return to the phone application.

iCloud contacts are not synchronized

It may be that (some) contacts are not visible on your iPhone because you saved them via another device and the iCloud sync is not working properly. You can solve this as follows:

  1. Check the system status of iCloud contacts here
  2. Make sure you are logged into iCloud on all devices with the same Apple ID.
  3. Make sure you have “contacts” enabled in the iCloud settings. Go to settings > [your name] > iCloud. Enable contacts.
  4. Check the internet connection
  5. See if you still have enough iCloud storage space. Go to settings > [your name] > iCloud. Tap iCloud storage.
  6. Check here to see if you’re still under the limit for iCloud contacts.

Contacts not visible iPhone in WhatsApp

When you are in the contacts app you can find everyone but why are some contacts not visible in WhatsApp. Here’s what you can try:

  1. Go to your iPhone settings > privacy > contacts
  2. Make sure the switch next to WhatsApp is on
  3. So make sure any zeros (0) or special dialing codes at the beginning of the number are removed, use +31612345678 instead of 00310612345678.

Contacts not visible through lists or accounts

Sometimes contacts are not visible iPhone because they are in a different list or account. This happens, for example, if you use Gmail, Outlook or a work account in addition to iCloud, or if your contacts are stored on another device in a different account. Therefore, make sure your contacts accounts are set up properly. Go to Settings > Apps > Contacts > Contacts accounts and check that the correct accounts are on, and that Contacts is enabled per account. If you use multiple accounts, it may also help to check what your default account is for new contacts so that new numbers don’t end up in an unexpected account. Then open the Contacts app and check that you have all lists turned on. In some iOS versions you can choose lists at the top, if everything is not selected there, contacts sometimes seem to disappear while they are still there. If your contacts are in the Contacts app but aren’t showing up everywhere, it may help to restart your iPhone and check your Internet connection to get syncing going again.
