The iPhone 16 launch: everything you need to know!
In 2007, Steve Jobs surprised the world with the first iPhone, a small, compact and revolutionary cell phone. Seventeen years later, Apple is launching the all-new iPhone 16 this fall.
Although the tech giant has revealed very little, some things are known. This blog covers everything you need to know and can expect from the launch of the iPhone 16.

iPhone 16 launch
Any ardent Apple fan knows that the new iPhones are traditionally unveiled at a big event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park. This fall it’s back on Sept. 9, complete with Apple’s famous slogan “It’s glow time. During this event, all the ins and outs of the new iPhone and associated gadgets will be revealed. From September 13 you can pre-order the iPhone 16, and on September 20 it will officially be in stores.
Models
The iPhone 16 will be available in multiple models, as we have come to expect from Apple.
The iPhone 16 will include four different models at launch:
- iPhone 16
- iPhone 16 Plus
- iPhone 16 Pro
- iPhone 16 Pro Max
What’s new?
The iPhone 16 brings several notable changes from the iPhone 15. One of the biggest upgrades is the brand new chip that supports Apple’s artificial intelligence more about that later. In addition, the phone has gotten a few millimeters longer and features a new OLED screen, perfect for your endless doomscroll sessions!
For photography enthusiasts, Apple also has good news: the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s camera has received a major upgrade, with a wider lens and ultrazoom for even sharper images. Not to mention, the handy “action button” returns, allowing you to switch between apps effortlessly, just like the iPhone 15 Pro.
Apple’s artificial intelligence
Last year, Apple announced their innovative Apple Intelligence that is usable on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max from iOS 18. This built-in AI tool takes usability to the next level by making photos, videos, text and even your home screen smarter and easier to adjust.
With Apple Intelligence, everything you do on your iPhone becomes just that little bit faster and more targeted, making personalization and creation effortless. Apple Intelligence, combined with the new chip discussed earlier, will be available on every model of the iPhone 16. This means that all users can take advantage of the powerful AI feature, no matter which model you choose. Well, not all users, we Europeans will have to wait a while for the AI tool due to European regulations and Apple not being on the same page.
Expected price
Although we already know a lot about the functionality and design of Apple’s launch, the price level is and remains guesswork. The price level is not expected to be much different from its predecessor during its launch.

Is the iPhone 16 worth it?
Whether the iPhone 16 is a good purchase depends on your priorities and expectations of a smartphone. The iPhone 16 will be a significant improvement on its predecessor, for example, the new camera, OLED screen, Apple intelligence and action button will make the biggest difference.
