- Additional insights, fun things you can do with your iPhone
Step 1: Hold down your screen
Start by holding down your access screen. Your iPhone now opens personalization mode, here you can customize your wallpaper, widgets and styles.
Step 2: Click on “Customize.
When your access screen is in edit mode, click Customize. This opens the menu that allows you to personalize various parts of your access screen.
Step 3: Then click on ‘Access screen’ and adjust your clock
Within the Customize menu, select Access Screen. In iOS 26 you can make your clock more striking than before, you can change the style, choose the color, and with many styles also choose a different spelling or language. Tap the clock to open the options, then choose your style and color. Nice tip, try a subtle color that matches your background, it looks instantly premium. Another tip, choose a photo with a clear subject, iOS 26 can dynamically position the clock so the subject remains more visible.
Step 3b: Customize the language
Here you can also change the language of your access screen. As an example, click on “Arabic Indian” to change the language.
Step 4: Add widgets, make your screen really useful
In iOS 26, you can make your access screen not only beautiful, but also functional. Add widgets such as weather, calendar, battery, reminders or health. Choose widgets that you really use daily, then your iPhone will feel smarter instantly. Handy combination, weather plus calendar for overview, battery if you use AirPods, reminders if you often forget things. In iOS 26, you can often place widgets just a bit more flexibly, too, to keep your screen quieter.
Step 5: Create multiple backgrounds, a different vibe for each moment
You don’t have to choose one background. Create multiple access screens, for example, a quiet work style, a colorful weekend style, and a minimalist evening style. You can switch easily by pressing and holding on your access screen and swiping to a different set.
Nice tip, create a set for travel with widgets such as maps, weather and translation, and a set for sports with health and timers.
Step 6: Link your background to Focus
This is where iOS 26 really gets fun. You can link an access screen to a Focus, such as Work, Sleep or Personal. This automatically changes your iPhone’s look and layout exactly when you need it.
Example, Work Focus with calendar, tasks and fewer distractions, Evening Focus with music and a quiet background. This also helps if you are more easily distracted by notifications and apps.
Additional insights: fun things you can do with your iPhone
1, Create a minimalist screen for focus. Put down as few widgets as possible, choose a quiet background, and let your iPhone scream less for attention.
2, Create a motivation screen. Use a quote, a vision board picture, or a goal as a background. Simple, but surprisingly effective if you open your phone often.
3, Create a seasonal set. One set for summer, one set for winter. You can change them easily, and it feels like your iPhone is always new.
4, Deliberately choose readability. Too busy a photo makes your clock and widgets less clear. Rather, choose a photo with space, or a quiet gradient background.
5, Use a photo with depth. iOS 26 can add a dynamic effect to many backgrounds, which literally makes your screen more alive as you move your iPhone.
Step 7: Click ‘Done’ and you’re done
Once you are satisfied with your adjustments, click “Done” to save the changes. Enjoy your new personalized access screen and make your iPhone all yours.
