About Wouter

Wouter has worked at ThePhoneLab since May 2020 and has been repairing since 2016. In the years before ThePhoneLab, he gained extensive experience at Samsung, where he dealt with service and repairs for many years. That background gives him a solid foundation when leading his team and solving technical problems today.

At ThePhoneLab, Wouter is shop manager of our Utrecht branch. Besides performing repairs, he supervises the team in the store and makes sure that customers are helped quickly and well. Managing a team gives him the most energy. Creating a good atmosphere, clear communication and satisfied customers is at least as important to him as the technical work itself.

His technical experience is mainly in smartphones, but since working at ThePhoneLab, he has also increasingly delved into laptop repairs. Now that laptops are a larger part of the work, he is one of the specialists on the team who is actively working on this.

When performing a diagnosis, Wouter always starts with the basics. What is the device still doing? Does it display, is it still responding, or is it still charging? From there he works step by step to the cause of the problem. Through systematic testing, he usually arrives at a clear solution quickly. Before returning a device or laptop to the customer, he always checks that all functions work properly and that the device is handed over neat and clean.

Outside of work, Wouter can regularly be found in the FC Utrecht stadium. He also likes to spend as much time as possible with his three children.
