About Freek
Freek has worked at ThePhoneLab since September 2016 and has held various roles within the company over the years. What started on the shop floor quickly grew into a position with more responsibility. In the first year, he became shop manager and was also given the role of chief technician. New iPhones were often opened by him first, so the team knew how to repair a device safely and efficiently.
In the years that followed, Freek helped start up and oversee several branches. These included being at the helm of stores in Amsterdam and Utrecht. Nowadays he mainly focuses on the business side of ThePhoneLab. As manager business he is in charge of repairs for various business customers at home and abroad . He also fulfills the role of auditor. He visits branches every week to check if everything and everyone works according to the high quality standards of ThePhoneLab.
Technology still plays an important role in his work. Freek has broad experience with repairs, but over time developed a particular affinity for OnePlus devices. Because ThePhoneLab became an authorized repair partner, he built up a lot of experience with this brand and with Android devices in general. What appeals to him most about the work are new challenges. Devices that have not been opened often or repairs that have not been done before give him the most energy.
These days, Freek gets the most satisfaction from coaching teams and improving stores. When a team runs a strong day or a store can continue with fresh energy after an audit, it gives him great satisfaction.
Outside of work, Freek can often be found at the gym. He also enjoys discovering exceptional wines and spending time with friends.
