About Robert

Robert has worked at ThePhoneLab since November 2023 and has been repairing devices since October 2014. He took his first steps into the profession at MediaMarkt, where he had the opportunity to take courses in smartphone repairs. What started as a new challenge quickly grew into a profession in which he feels completely at home, mainly because of his love for helping customers. In total, he worked at MediaMarkt for ten years, where he gained a lot of experience with different types of repairs.

Nowadays Robert is shop manager in The Hague. Where he can be found behind the counter every day with a big smile in his lab coat. His expertise lies mainly in smartphone repairs, especially iPhones and Samsung devices. If he has to name a preference, he still chooses Samsung. He also finds laptop repairs interesting, mainly because they often require more research and each laptop is built differently. What customers appreciate most about Robert is his honesty. He always gives clear and objective advice, even if it means that a repair might not be the best choice. It is important to him that customers know where they stand and leave their device with confidence.

Robert gets the most satisfaction from the moment when a customer leaves the store happy. Sometimes that’s in a complex repair, but it can also be something simple. For example, he recently helped a customer with a laptop whose microphone wasn’t working. In the end it turned out to be a simple adjustment, but for the customer it meant that he could have a meeting again without any problems. As a thank you, he received a rave review from the customer. Moments like that really make the work worthwhile for Robert.

Outside of work, Robert enjoys spending time with his family. On the weekends, they regularly go out, such as to a zoo or an amusement park like the Efteling.
