About Mick

Mick has worked at ThePhoneLab since 2024 as shop manager of the Rotterdam store. However, his experience in the repair business goes back much further. For over twelve years he has been repairing smartphones and other devices. Originally, his interest lay in healthcare. Above all, he wanted to help people and mean something to others. Eventually he discovered that this motivation also fits perfectly into the world of repairs. Solving technical problems and helping customers directly turned out to be an ideal combination for him.

What began as a side job quickly grew into a profession. After several years of experience, Mick took over the repair store where he worked and ran it as his own business for several years. During that time he built up a lot of technical knowledge and developed further in guiding customers and managing a team.

At ThePhoneLab, Mick now uses that experience as a shop manager in Rotterdam. Besides managing the store, he stays involved in repairs and helping customers. For him, it’s not just about the device, but mainly about the person behind it. Clear communication and honest advice are key. The best moment of his work remains when a customer comes in with a problem, walks out relieved and satisfied with a working appliance.

Outside of work, Mick likes to seek freedom. He likes to ride motorcycles and enjoys the technology and speed of the machine. He also prefers to spend time with his wife and two young children.
