About Marcello

Marcello has been working at ThePhoneLab as a repair specialist since January 2023, but his experience with electronics goes back much further. In fact, according to him, it started when he could just walk. “Since I could walk I have loved electronics and took everything apart. Much to the dismay of my parents.” That curiosity about how things work has never gone away. His professional career in the trade began in 2013. Before that, he worked for years in an electronics store where he dealt with electronics on a daily basis, but the repairs themselves were still sent to suppliers back then. That still kept itching. When he finally got the chance to repair appliances himself, the choice was quickly made.

Within ThePhoneLab, Marcello works in several locations in South Holland. His strength lies in the careful execution of repairs and the neat finishing of a device. For him, a repair is only successful when everything is put back together perfectly and all functions have been properly tested. Although he repairs many different devices, he likes to work on laptops and MacBooks. Those kinds of repairs often require just a little more attention and puzzling, something he enjoys doing.

What clients often appreciate about Marcello is his open and calm manner. He takes the time to explain things well and above all he wants someone to leave with a good feeling. As he himself says, the best moment is when “the client walks out the door with as big a smile as the one I had when the client came in.”

Even outside of work, technology continues to play a big role. In his spare time, Marcello enjoys watching teardown videos on YouTube, where electronics are completely taken apart to show how everything works. He finds videos about avionics and high-frequency radio equipment especially fascinating.
