About Joey

Joey has worked at ThePhoneLab since September 2023 but has been repairing devices since February 2012. His interest in technology started early. His father was always working on computers, electronics and building websites. When something broke down on a computer or device at home, Joey would automatically come to him. So his curiosity for technology grew and step by step he rolled into the repair business.

That interest eventually led to an ICT education and an internship in a repair store. There he discovered how much fun it is not only to use appliances, but also to understand and repair them. Since then, repairing has remained a regular part of his work. Nowadays Joey is shop manager of the store in Alkmaar. Here he is always behind the counter with a smile. His technical strength lies mainly in laptop repairs, especially Windows laptops. Especially repairs that at first glance seem hopeless, such as damaged housings or broken hinges, give the greatest satisfaction when it is as new again.

What customers often appreciate about Joey is his clear communication and organized way of working. If a part is delayed or an appointment needs to be rescheduled, he contacts the customer immediately. This prevents someone from coming by for nothing. He likes to go the extra mile to solve a problem, even if it means staying a little longer himself. Joey gets the greatest satisfaction from the moment when a customer leaves the store relieved and satisfied.

Outside of work, Joey is a big soccer fan and enjoys watching games. He also has a special hobby: collecting watches. He regularly buys watches that need some attention, refurbishes them and thus gives them a second life. And as far as Joey is concerned, he would rather do that with a nice Seiko than an overpriced Rolex.
