iPhone rumors July 2018: 4 new iPhones?!

Summer is in full swing. Wonderful, of course, but summer means cucumber time. Also in iPhone land. So it’s time to look ahead to all the goodies Apple is going to spoil us with next September. It should be added that nothing is certain yet. But we are never averse to a good rumor.

For enthusiasts, the iPhone SE 2 (H2)

We begin this iPhone rumor mill with the successor to the iPhone SE, the budget model. This model is very popular among people who cannot live without an iPhone but do not need a big screen and especially a big price tag. Several rumors are circulating, but the most persistent are that the iPhone SE 2 will feature wireless charging, a better battery, a new look with different colors and that the cameras will get a major upgrade.

The device is expected in the fall of this year at the earliest.

For true fans, three new bezel-less iPhones (H2)

Less than a year ago, we were already spoiled by Apple with, arguably, the best smartphone ever: the iPhone X. Sales of the device without bezels and home button but with wireless charging and Animoji’s
were a bit disappointing, however
. Reason for Apple to release not one, not two, but three successors to its flagship device.

A bigger but cheaper iPhone X

Surely the main reason sales were disappointing was the high entry price of €1159. They came up with something on that in Silicon Valley. Not a smaller device with lesser specifications, but a larger device with lesser specifications. What will mainly be less is the lack of the OLED screen. It will be replaced by an “old-fashioned” LCD screen which should reduce production costs.

The iPhone XL Plus Pad Mini?

Anyone who has ever been to the United States is undoubtedly familiar with the unofficial motto there:
bigger is always better
. They thought so too at Apple because in all likelihood a huge iPhone X is coming out. In terms of dimensions, the device will not be much different from the iPhone 8 Plus but thanks to the bezel-less screen, the device will feel like the good old iPad Mini. What the model with 6.5-inch screen will be called is by no means yet known but we already suggest the name iPhone XL Plus Pad Mini.

iPhone 11?

Lastly, Apple would also just come with an upgrade to the iPhone X. The screen will keep the familiar 5.8-inch size but will come with a lower price tag. Insiders say the starting price will be around €900.

What new features can we expect?

Surely the most striking rumor is that of updated wireless charging. Where you still need the old device to contact the charger, Apple is rumored to be working with
Energous
to enable wireless charging from a distance.

The ability to put two SIM cards in one device would also make its debut in the new iPhones. This is especially useful for business callers who want both their business and personal subscriptions in one device.

The ability to unlock your device with your finger will likely disappear from the iPhone (except for the iPhone SE 2). Starting this year, you will have to do that with your face with Face-ID. Nice detail, though, is that all devices will likely then feature Animoji’s.

There have been no rumors about better batteries, processors and cameras as of yet, but knowing Apple, these too will receive minor upgrades.
