Today, Apple announced the new and long-awaited iPhone SE 2020. While the device was first rumored to be called the SE 2, Apple chose to go with the same name but presented in a different year. The device will be available for order starting April 17 and starting at 489.00 euros. So what are the differences, comparisons and new features?

iPhone SE 2020

So the device was announced today by Apple, available for delivery starting April 24 but available for pre-order as early as this Friday. And all from “only” 489,- euros. The iPhone SE 2020 is actually the replacement device for the iPhone 8. Apple is therefore removing this device from its lineup to focus entirely on its replacement. The new version SE is not in the same size as its younger brother, the iPhone SE with the size of the iPhone 5(S), but in the size of the iPhone 8. Like the iPhone 8, the new model also has a 4.7-inch retina display also retains the home button with touch id. Perhaps the last iPhone to still feature a home button. The device comes in three different colors; black, red and white and with storage ranging from 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. The device also features the same A13 chip found in the iPhone 11 series. Plenty of choice you might say!

No Face ID, but a home button

Of course, we secretly expected a bit if it was to be the replacement for the 2016 SE and the iPhone 8. This may just be the last model to carry a home button, although Face ID is an excellent replacement. This is a feature built in only as of the iPhone 10 series, making the home button almost a thing of the past.

Is the iPhone SE 2020 recommended or not?

Apple, of course, created the SE to offer a somewhat more affordable device. Like the previous iPhone 5c and the iPhone Xr, this is another model that is relatively affordable when compared to the newer models that go well over $1,000. With Apple removing the iPhone 8 from its lineup, we think the iPhone SE 2020 is a good replacement. This is because the price is lower than the iPhone 8 and, of course, the performance of the device is no longer comparable to the 2016 iPhone SE. You can find all the new specifications of the 2020 iPhone SE at the bottom of this post! By the way, this version comes with iOS 13.4, for those who find this interesting to know! By the way, the design is not much different from all the other models, the difference will not go there. The back is glass, which means we can repair it for you when it is broken, and for of course many times cheaper than Apple itself. See below how replacing your iPhone SE 2020 works at ThePhoneLab. We also expect the screen price to be similar to that of the iPhone 8.
